Maxine Meltzer brings extensive trial experience and deep litigation knowledge to residential default matters. She is known for her courtroom presence, strategic mindset, and commitment to client service.
Maxine Meltzer is a Florida-licensed attorney focused on real estate matters including foreclosure and title litigation. With more than a decade as a litigator, she is known for her extensive courtroom experience, strategic approach to contested matters, and commitment to clear, client-focused communication. Throughout her career, Maxine has built a reputation for thoughtful advocacy and practical problem-solving while helping clients navigate complex legal issues with confidence.
At MDK, Maxine manages a portfolio of foreclosure cases while overseeing a team of experienced paralegals. Her practice includes extensive motion practice, depositions, and mediations. She has prosecuted hundreds of bench trials throughout her career. Having spent years handling contested matters, she understands both the legal and operational demands clients face and works diligently to move cases forward with efficiency, professionalism, and attention to detail.
From the outset of her practice, Maxine sought opportunities that would allow her to gain meaningful courtroom experience. “I knew that I wanted a hands-on practice and the opportunity to develop as a litigator from the beginning,” she says. Within months of becoming an attorney, she was handling trials and appearing regularly before judges. Over the course of her career, she has managed litigation matters from inception through resolution while also mentoring attorneys and training paralegals.
Client communication is central to Maxine’s practice philosophy. She breaks complex matters into manageable pieces, clearly explaining litigation risks, deadlines, costs, and strategic considerations so clients can make informed decisions without becoming overwhelmed by the foreclosure process. “I love going to court and representing clients, while also helping people understand the process and what to expect,” she says.
Maxine earned her J.D., magna cum laude, from St. Thomas University School of Law, where she graduated sixth in her class. During law school, she served as Managing Editor of the St. Thomas Law Review and was an active member of the Moot Court Board. She also holds a Florida real estate license, which gives her valuable insight into title issues and the transactional side of real estate matters.
Outside of work, Maxine enjoys traveling, spending time at the beach, and practicing pilates. A passionate traveler with a particular love for European destinations, she values opportunities to experience different cultures and perspectives. She also remains actively involved in her community with an emphasis on supporting elderly individuals, often helping them navigate practical legal and real estate-related challenges. “I’m always looking for ways to help people, whether it’s through my practice, my community, or simply being a resource when someone needs guidance,” she says. Whether working with clients or supporting those around her, Maxine approaches every interaction with empathy, professionalism, and a genuine desire to help.
