Michael Wiery serves as Director of Litigation at MDK, where he leads the firm's litigation practice while representing financial institutions and creditors in complex disputes and appellate matters. With more than two decades of experience in consumer finance, foreclosure, title, and commercial litigation, he has built a reputation for skillful advocacy and practical problem-solving. Whether advising clients through challenging disputes or overseeing litigation strategy, Michael is focused on delivering solutions that align with both legal objectives and business priorities.

With a background in accounting, Michael is comfortable analyzing financial records and understanding the business issues underlying a dispute to assess financially beneficial legal strategies for clients. This perspective allows him to provide advice that reflects both the legal and operational realities of each case.

Michael has successfully handled sophisticated trial and appellate matters, earning numerous published decisions in both state and federal courts. He enjoys tackling novel legal issues and developing legal strategies and settlements in cases that require careful analysis and creative problem-solving. This experience has made him a trusted industry resource for clients facing complex and evolving legal challenges.

Beyond his client work, Michael is an active contributor to the mortgage servicing industry through speaking and writing. He has presented at national and regional conferences on topics including foreclosure litigation, title issues, creditor rights, and regulatory developments, and has authored articles addressing emerging legal issues affecting lenders and servicers. He views these opportunities as a way to share practical knowledge, exchange ideas with peers, and continue learning alongside others in the industry.

Outside the office, Michael enjoys fitness activities, exploring new restaurants, following Formula 1 racing, and learning new languages. Michael is also a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving in the First Tactical Fighter Wing, Langley AFB, Virginia.
