Brittany Anderson joined MDK in 2010, fresh out of Ohio University, and has become a cornerstone of MDK’s vision to create uncommon paths to success. Now serving as Director of Business Development and a leader of the Culture Council, Brittany brings her passion for personal and professional growth to everything she does.
Living in Grandview with her husband, Brian, and cat, Mabel, Brittany is a traveler and lifelong learner, with a recent trip to Egypt deepening her appreciation for diverse cultures and perspectives. This openness and curiosity about the world enrich her role at MDK, where she applies those insights to help MDK and its clients succeed in transformative ways.
Brittany’s MDK story began the Monday after her college graduation when she joined MDK as a legal assistant in the evictions department. Soon after, she quickly embraced an opportunity to support MDK’s first Client Account Management (CAM) team in a role that demanded creativity, problem-solving, and an ability to imagine things that did not exist quite yet. From the start, Brittany’s drive to build something new and needed was key to her success in CAM, where she helped to set the standard for client satisfaction, handling complex audits, and resolving issues to meet MDK’s high-performance expectations.
Early lessons in self-confidence, preparation, and excellence came from Brittany’s interactions with clients. Her success expanding MDK’s relationship with a key regional bank client exemplifies her dedication to MDK’s mission. She reached out to decision-makers, skillfully presenting MDK’s value and growing the business beyond initial zip code restrictions. These efforts not only strengthened MDK’s relationship with this important bank client across Ohio and beyond but also built Brittany’s confidence in her ability to generate impactful client relationships. Her tenacity and professionalism now set the example for her colleagues, proving that persistence, knowledge, and a readiness to push past boundaries drive success.
Another formative experience involved a challenging joint meeting with other industry firms, where Brittany witnessed the risks of inadequate preparation. This moment inspired her to excel in preparation for all client interactions, understanding each client’s specific needs, and tailoring her message and agenda to address those needs. This commitment to excellence earned MDK a respected reputation in relationship management, with clients and competitors alike commending Brittany and RMBD for their expertise and attention to detail.
In her business development role, Brittany seized an opportunity to create and define a new position: Strategic Relationship Manager. Once again, she was tasked with creating something from scratch. Brittany’s visionary approach and dedication have shaped MDK’s client relationships, helping the firm not only grow its book of business but also deepen its industry insight and client partnerships. This entrepreneurial spirit, grounded in a commitment to MDK’s values, paved the way for further advancement.
After a brief employment at ROUP, an auction platform startup, Brittany returned to MDK in 2023, bringing renewed confidence and a resolve to continue expanding MDK’s reputation and reach. Her experiences outside the company reminded her of the importance of a well-defined and tested value proposition and ability to deliver on promises.
Now, Brittany’s goal is to develop her team’s scope, further elevating MDK’s standards in sales, marketing, branding, and relationship management. She thrives on empowering others to explore their strengths and create impactful careers at MDK, where opportunity and growth are core principles.
Brittany’s commitment to community service shines through her work with the Red Cross, where she spearheaded a successful gala fundraiser as president of the Young Professional Associate Board. Her leadership was a catalyst for the Red Cross’ fundraising goals, earning recognition from both the Red Cross and prominent local businesses such as Nationwide Insurance, Huntington Bank, Battelle, and many others for raising $250,000 in a span of four years. After her time on the associate board, Brittany was invited to the Red Cross Board of Directors, highlighting her dedication to meaningful impact beyond her professional achievements at MDK.
As part of MDK’s Culture Council, Brittany champions initiatives for community giving and volunteering, and supports MDK’s partnership with BESA. Once again Brittany shined as she organized an MDK event celebrating local art and MDK’s own culture champions. Brittany’s current and future focus is on the events that foster connection, learning, and development, reflecting her belief that MDK’s culture can be a powerful tool for growth. Her vision for the Culture Council includes more team building, leadership training, and skill development opportunities to help MDK employees discover their strengths and grow professionally and personally.
Brittany is passionate about creating paths for success that reflect MDK’s core mission. Whether by designing roles that do not yet exist or fostering a culture of excellence and innovation, Brittany’s journey at MDK is a testament to the potential within every employee to forge their unique path. Her story serves as an inspiration for all MDK employees to embrace opportunity, push boundaries, and trust that MDK will support their growth and achievements.
Reflecting on her journey, Brittany shares that MDK’s environment encourages exploration and growth. She urges her colleagues to seek out new skills and embrace challenges, knowing that success at MDK is about more than just professional goals—it is about discovering one’s potential and finding meaning in the journey.
