MDK is pleased to announce that Kurt Gruber has joined the firm as Of Counsel, bringing with him decades of legal and industry experience in the resort and leisure sector, with a particular focus on shared ownership.
In his new role, Mr. Gruber will support MDK’s continued expansion in the shared ownership industry by helping clients streamline inventory management, improve operational efficiency, and navigate evolving legal and regulatory frameworks. Drawing on his extensive background in both private practice and executive leadership, he brings practical, strategic insight to the firm’s timeshare services.

Based in Florida, Mr. Gruber brings decades of experience advising leading multinational resort corporations and timeshare exchange service groups. He has played a pivotal role in shaping legislation and regulation across the industry, including non-judicial foreclosure amendments in Florida and the U.S. Virgin Islands, and a full rewrite of North Carolina’s timeshare law. In addition to his legal practice, he has held executive leadership roles in timeshare development and resort management, providing him with a strong in-house perspective.
Mr. Gruber is an active participant in the American Resort Development Association (ARDA) and ARDA-Florida, having served on numerous committees including the Resort Management Committee, Federal Issues Committee, and State Legislative Committee, and previously as Chair of ARDA’s General Counsel Council.
