Valerie N. Edgecombe

Director of Timeshare and Florida Residential Mortgage Practice Groups

Always there to answer clients’ questions, Valerie Edgecombe works in the trenches to resolve problems from the ground up. Her timeshare industry practice is shaped by a strong expertise in timeshare foreclosure litigation, trustee foreclosure proceedings, and trustee sales matters.

In the heart of Orlando, Florida, Valerie Edgecombe navigates the intricate and ever-evolving landscape of the timeshare industry with unparalleled expertise and dedication. As the Practice Group Director of MDK's Timeshare and Florida groups, she leads her team with a sharp strategic vision, fostering a culture of collaboration and achieving remarkable results for both clients and colleagues.

"There's something incredibly rewarding about helping people overcome challenges and find solutions," Valerie explains. Her focus lies in the complex areas of timeshare foreclosure litigation, default litigation, creditor's rights, and conveyances. Her extensive experience translates into insightful counsel and comprehensive support. From ensuring legal compliance and suggesting process improvements to fostering a positive learning environment, Valerie plays a central role in empowering Team MDK to excel.

Open communication and teamwork are pillars of Valerie's leadership style. "When everyone feels their voice is heard and perspectives are valued, we achieve the best outcomes," she emphasizes. She actively collaborates with attorneys, agile team facilitators, and legal pod members, strategizing on cases, aligning with the firm's mission, and ensuring everyone is working towards shared goals. This collaborative spirit fosters strong relationships built on mutual respect and transparency.

For Valerie, success goes beyond meeting deadlines and exceeding client expectations, although she excels at both. It's about creating a positive and growth-oriented environment where everyone thrives. "Being the best person and leader I can be" drives her every action, she explains. This translates into providing continuous support, fostering learning opportunities, and celebrating individual and collective achievements.

When Valerie steps away from the legal world, she cherishes spending quality time with her daughters and immersing herself in the vibrant music scene through concerts and events. This balance fuels her personal growth and allows her to bring renewed energy and perspective to her work. "Seeking new learning opportunities, both professionally and personally, is crucial for continuous improvement," she believes.

Valerie finds deep meaning in her work at MDK, where her values of respect and collaboration resonate strongly with the firm's culture. "It's truly inspiring to be part of an organization that fosters creativity, embraces engagement, and values advancement," she shares. This shared vision allows her to contribute meaningfully, knowing her work directly impacts the success of the team and the firm as a whole.
